I am Eren Emin, the elected Chair of the Turkish Police Association. I have been serving with the Metropolitan Police Service since 2012, I am a proud Turkish Cypriot, born and raised in Enfield, London. I have been a member of the TPA for many years, and I am passionate about serving my community and those within the Turkish Police Association. I was formerly the Chair of London North branch for the Interpol Association. I am from a Proactive Policing background, and I am currently posted to Neighbourhoods Policing in Enfield & Haringey.
I am Abi Osman, I joined the Metropolitan Police Service in August 1993. I was appointed as the Social Secretary for the Turkish Police Association when it first launched in 2003. I am currently a Service Delivery Manager in Camden & Islington borough. I have managed an Ops Office in Haringey prior to this, this involved working in the control room for major events including THFC. I have also worked on a Turkish intelligence role, and was responsible for Turkish engagement for the MPS. I have worked on several projects which includes the launch of a 3rd party crime reporting surgery for the Turkish Community. I am also a Grievance Officer and have a background in HR.
I am Superintendent Mustafa Kemal. I joined the Sovereign Base Areas Police in July 1991. Throughout my career I have served in various departments across the SBA, including Response Teams, Engagement, CID, Traffic, Anti-poaching, Operations and Intelligence teams. In 2001 I was involved in the Episkopi Police Station riots where I received several injuries, I was commended for my bravery by the CBF. In 2014 I was promoted to Chief Inspector, being the first ever Turkish Cypriot to reach this rank. In 2019 I was further promoted to Superintendent, I was also awarded the prestigious overseas territories police medal. Currently I am the head of Operations and Professional Standards.
I am Selen Mehmet. I have been in the MPS since 2019, I started as a Team member on the NA LDSS team. Later worked my way up to become a Team Leader and currently working as Staff Officer to MO11 Director. I haven’t been in the MET long but can say I have really enjoyed my journey so far and very excited to work alongside the rest of the TPA team, to meet and further our aims for our community. I was born in Hackney and raised in Chingford, I’m proud to call myself a Turkish Cypriot. My previous experience is in various industries such as; Media, Retail, Learning & Development and HR in the private sector.
I am Ozgur Saadet, an Inspector in the Sovereign Base Areas Police, I joined in 2005. In 2008 I become accredited as a National Firearms Instructor at the MDTPGA Weathersfield in the UK. Throughout my career, I have worked in Response Teams, Training, HQ and Management Services. In 2016 I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, and then in 2021 promoted to Inspector. In 2022 I become the Chief Firearms Instructor in charge of Firearms, Public Order and Officer Safety Training. I am also a Tactical Firearms Commander (TFC) following my training in Kent Constabulary. During my career I also attained a masters degree in business administration at UCLAN Cyprus Campus.
I am Ahmet Retvan, and my role within the Turkish Police Association is Events & Social Secretary. I am 38 years old and have been a serving Police Officer with the Metropolitan Police since 2005. My background is Turkish Cypriot, born and raised in Hackney London. I have been a TPA member since 2006 and have always been keen and enthusiastic in assisting the Turkish Community a long side my role the best I can. I have been in many roles within The Met in my 17 years’ service & currently working within the Roads & Transport Command based at NA - Haringey and also a working Police Federation Representative.
I am Mustafa Kurtulus, In 2012 I embarked on an impassioned journey as a guardian of London, joining the Metropolitan Police Service with a fervent commitment to the city's heartbeat. Originating from the vibrant streets of Ankara, Turkiye, my heart beats in sync with the diverse rhythm of London's neighbourhoods. My policing narrative is woven with the threads of passion. Whether orchestrating events that celebrate the city's kaleidoscope of cultures or championing safety initiatives designed to resonate with the pulse of Londoners. My policing journey, is a testament to the unwavering passion that fuels my quest for a safer, more vibrant London.
I am Burak Guven and I’ve been a police officer since 2011. I started my policing journey as a Special Constable whilst completing my degree. After graduating, I decided to take on policing full time and I’ve been committed ever since. I’ve been on numerous teams including response, neighbourhoods, tasking and proactive teams. I’m currently on the Violent Crime Task Force doing what I enjoy the most, proactive policing. I’m a Blue Light Champion and currently the Welfare Executive for the TPA. Welfare is incredibly important to me and I strongly believe in the ethos of looking after our officers and the people we serve. Thankfully, this ethos is equally as important for the TPA where I’ve been given the ability to put my skills and passion to good use.
I am Ozal Mehmet, I have been serving officer in the Metropolitan Police Service since 2007 and I have been a member of the TPA since this date. I have worked in various roles from proactive Policing to Operations, I am currently posted as a Sergeant in Roads and Transport Policing. I was born and raised in North London and I am a proud Turkish Cypriot. I am very excited about the rejuvenation of the TPA under Chair Eren Emin. We have grown in numbers rapidly since the relaunch and have been very active as a staff association both internally and externally within the community. I look forward to further growth and being actively involved in future endeavours of the TPA.
